The science that studies life is referred to as Biology. All of life's physicochemical characteristics are studied in this field. There is a lot of overlap between biology and other scientific disciplines due to the current tendency toward cross-disciplinary research and the unification of scientific information and investigation from other subjects. Biology is separated into various branches yet all of the subcategories are linked by fundamental principles. The study of cells, the fundamental units of structure and function in living creatures, is known as cell biology. Life is seen as a manifestation of chemical and energetic transformations that occur among the numerous chemical constituents that make up an organism, in molecular biology. The study of groups or populations of organisms that live in a certain area or region is known as population biology. There are studies of the roles performed by various types of plants and animals in the complex and self-perpetuating interrelationships that exist between the living and non-living worlds. Studies of the built-in controls that naturally sustain such interactions are also being conducted.
