Traditional Games

Sports are something that unifies a country like no other. An apt example for that can be seen through the movie ‘Lagaan’ that brought out the unifying spirit of India. In the truest of sense, traditional sports are the category of sports that are traditional to our culture that could even range to different kinds of games. Considering India has such a diverse and distinct culture, each state has its own set of traditional sports to practise. India has become the home of classical sports such as Kushti (Indian wrestling), Kho-Kho, Vallamkali, and many others. India is also well-known for its rich culture and traditions. Mallakhamb, also known as the pole dance of India, is a traditional sport in India. It is one of the most challenging sports in India. In India, there are a few well-known rural sports that are also quite adventurous. I've listed a handful of the most popular traditional sports in India. Traditional sports provide unique oppurtunities that mainstream sports may not. It is frequently built on enjoyment and participation rather than competitiveness, and it provides a relationship to something larger than sports and physical activity alone. Traditional sports attempt to maximise advantages on the basis of community interaction and culture.
