It is one of most developing sectors in our nation. It not only provides food and revenue for the country but also gives immense job opportunities for the people. Some of the irrigation projects in India include the Bhakra Nangal in the river Sutlej, the Beas project in the rives Beas etc. Food systems that are healthy, sustainable, and inclusive are critical to achieving the world’s development goals. According to the studies in the year 2016, agriculture provided a living for 64 percent of poor working adults. Growth in agriculture is two to four times more effective than growth in other sectors in raising incomes among the poorest.
