Pollution is becoming a major threat to our planet. Pollution control is a term used in environmental engineering to describe a wide range of methods for limiting environmental damage caused by the release of hazardous substances and energies. Pollution control methods include sanitary landfills, automotive emission control systems, sewerage system sedimentation tanks, electrostatic precipitation of pollutants from industrial gas, and recycling. For economic reasons, none of these policies are widely implemented, and political and societal pressures have not yet forced their implementation. Please see this PPT for more information.
