Animal development, the processes that lead eventually to the formation of a new animal starting from cells derived from one or more parent individuals. Development thus occurs following the process by which a new generation of organisms is produced by the parent generation. Animal development fundamentally relies on the establishment of a complex array of spatiotemporal patterns of gene expression, gradually specifying embryonic territories and executing their differentiation. Animal will go through six basic stages of development. They are fertilization of egg (ovum) and sperm, cleavage, gastrulation, neurulation, organogenesis and metamorphosis. The presentation gives in-depth knowledge on the topic.
