When we think about reactions, all that comes to our mind is a chemistry lab with conical flasks with acids in it, burettes, lighter and so on. But reactions in chemistry can be both physical reactions and chemical reactions. Wondering how? It differs in its actual composition. Imagine dissolving sugar in coffee. As it dissolves, sugar loses it’s texture and colour. Such a reaction can be physical in nature. While if a reaction changes the composition or a new property is formed, then it’s a chemical reaction. We ourselves are the products of chemistry since our body is made of minerals and chemicals. The water we drink, the food we eat, the medicines we take are all a part of chemistry. Chemistry is a vast field of study which we touch, feel, smell and even eat in our everyday life. Interesting isn’t it? How is the soap we use for cleaning made? How is vinegar used as a preservative? The answer to all these questions lies in the world of chemistry.
