Ecology has a sub-branch called plant ecology. Plants are essential for our survival because they provide organic substances for herbivores, which are at the bottom of the food chain. Tropical forests, temperate grasslands, coniferous forests, terrestrial wetlands, and tundra are all forms of vegetation with varied distributions of plant species. Competition, mutualism, parasitism, and commensalism are examples of plant interactions. To learn more about plant ecology, take a peek at the PowerPoint presentation.
