Imphal, Manipur's capital, is full in natural beauty and fauna. Many people are astonished to learn that Polo came from Imphal.There are several antique treasures, temples, and monuments across the area. During the Second World War, it also witnessed the Battles of Imphal and Kohima. Chandel, popularly known as the Myanmar Gateway, is one of Manipur's most popular tourist destinations. Chandel and Tamenglong are also notable for being home to a diverse range of flora and animals. Manipur's commercial centre is Morel in Chandel. The Tamenglong Orange Festival draws visitors from all across the country. Sonapati, which is known for its little settlements, attracts a large number of visitors. As summer approaches, Chandel's Buning (N-Pyulong) grounds, which appear to touch the horizon, are also abundant of wild lilies and orchids.
