Gamification is becoming increasingly popular and is being used more widely than ever before. It's all about applying game principles and techniques to non-game situations. The last century's industrial management paradigm, in which people are extrinsically motivated by carrots and sticks, is no longer valid. The new paradigm of people being intrinsically motivated creates fertile ground for gamification, which provides a plethora of options for addressing that intrinsic motivation. Human Resources is one area of business where gamification techniques are increasingly used.
