Palakkad Lok Sabha constituency once knows as Palghat constituency, is one of the 20 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies in Kerala state in southern India. It comprises 7 legislative assembly constituencies. Palakkad Lok Sabha constituency is composed of the following assembly segments: Pattambi, Shornur, Ottapalam, Kongad, Mannarkkad, Malampuzha, Palakkad. According to Election Commission, there was a turnout of 9,19,559 registered voters in Palakkad Constituency for the 2019 Lok Sabha Election. The constituency recorded a polling percentage of 77.77% of the total electorate. The winner of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections was V K Sreekandan of the Indian National Congress who polled 3,99,274 votes which constituted 38.8% of the vote share which put the winning margin at just 11,637 votes over the CPI(M) candidate M B Rajesh who came in second in what was a tightly contested election . As of 2021, V K Sreekandan is still the incumbent MLA from Palakkad.
