Waste management can be defined as all the activities that are required to manage waste from the point of collecting the waste to recycling and monitoring. Waste in waste management refers to unwanted or unusable material that is produced through the activity of humans and can have different forms. Businesses have a legal obligation to effectively manage and dispose of their waste. Failing to do so could result in the business becoming liable for any damages caused through their negligence. Waste management is a global problem that continues to increase with rapid industrialization, population growth, and economic development. As the world hurtles towards the urban future, the amount of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) is growing very fast. Waste management is not just about how you handle waste material. It’s also about using resources more efficiently to avoid or reduce waste and rules and assistance vary between states and territories.
