The Kerala Legislative Assembly comprises of 140 elected representatives from the state of Kerala. Currently V D Satheeshan is selected as the Leader of the Opposition. They represent their own electorates from their constituency. Besides these 140 members, there is one member who’s nominated by the Governor of Kerala from the Anglo Indian community of the state. A MLA gets the same position and privilege like that of a MP from Parliament house.
കേരളത്തിൽ നിന്ന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട 140 പ്രതിനിധികൾ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നതാണ് കേരള നിയമസഭ. നിലവിൽ പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവായി വി ഡി സതീശനെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു. അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ മണ്ഡലത്തിലെ സ്വന്തം വോട്ടർമാരെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിക്കുന്നു. ഈ 140 അംഗങ്ങൾക്ക് പുറമേ, സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ ആംഗ്ലോ ഇന്ത്യൻ കമ്മ്യൂണിറ്റിയിൽ നിന്ന് കേരള ഗവർണർ നാമനിർദ്ദേശം ചെയ്ത ഒരു അംഗമുണ്ട്. പാർലമെന്റ് ഹൗസിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ഒരു എംപിക്ക് ലഭിക്കുന്ന അതേ സ്ഥാനവും പദവിയും ഒരു എംഎൽഎയ്ക്കും ലഭിക്കും.
