"The IAS/IPS Prelims exam contains two papers namely Paper I and Paper II. The Paper I is all about current events of national and international importance, history of India and Indian National Movement, India and World Geography, Indian Polity and governance, economic and social development, general issues on environmental ecology and general science. In the section of General Science comes subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Technology. The part of ""Vijnjan Evam Proudyogiki"" or Science and Technology is discussed in this part. A fair amount of questions comes from General Science part. The general principles as well as latest developments in technology are main topics to be considered. Paper I and Paper II both are of duration two hours with 200 marks each. The Paper I and Paper II of Prelims exam, both papers are mandatory and will be evaluated, therefore attending anyone Paper can disqualify to Mains exam".
