The Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration (UDDI) specifications describe a registry service for Web services and other electronic and non-electronic services. UDDI registry services are web services that manage information about service providers, service implementations, and service metadata. UDDI (Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration), an XML-based registry, enables businesses from all over the world to promote themselves online. Its ultimate goal is to expedite online transactions by enabling firms to find one another online and connect their e-commerce systems. It's common to relate UDDI to a phone book's white, yellow, and green pages. The initiative allows businesses to list themselves by name, product, location, or web services.
