Management is defined as the art of getting things done by making optimal use of available resources. It is the act of supervising and directing people, tasks and things. It refers to planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling the available resources to accomplish tasks and achieve organizational objectives. In order to achieve this, managers must require a wide range of skills. A Skill is the ability to do something proficiently. Management skills can be defined as certain qualities or abilities that a manager should possess in order to fulfil specific tasks in an organization. The skills help the manager to relate to their co-workers and know how to deal professionally with their sub-ordinates. There are different management skills that are required for the effective and smooth running of business. The three key managerial skills are technical skills, human or interpersonal management skills, and conceptual skills. It also includes specific skills like decision making, problem solving, communication and so on.
