The New Year marks the end of a year and commencement of the next. The day is celebrated and all around the world where people wish each other a prosperous and happy new year. New year has been celebrated for around three to four millennia now. It is observed as per the last date on the Gregorian calendar. The last date is thus called the New Year’s Eve. Celebrations last up to the next day, January 1st, the first date of the year. People gather together with food and drinks and spends the time with their loved ones. New Year resolutions are another common practice around the world. People count from 10 to 0 in the last few second of the last date of the passing year, and screams “Happy New Year” immediately as the clock strikes 12:00.
