The Solar System

Presentations | English

Solar system is the gravitationally bound system of the sun and the objects that orbit it, either directly or indirectly. Out of the many objects that directly orbit the sun, eight planets are the largest objects. The remaining are the smaller objects, the dwarf planets and small solar system bodies. The order and arrangement of the planets and other bodies in our solar system is due to the way the solar system formed. Rocky materials could withstand the young sun's immense heat, and so the first four planets — Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars — are small with rocky surfaces. Beyond them, materials we are used to seeing as ice, liquid or gas settled in the outer regions of the young solar system. The solar system is formed 4.6 million years ago from the gravitational collapse of a giant interstellar molecular cloud. The presentation gives in-depth knowledge on the topic.
