Of the many pilgrim centres in the state of Telangana, Dharmapuri occupies quite a prominent place. This is one of the nine famous Narasimha kshetraas, known as the Nava Narasimha Kshetraalu. Dharmapuri is located to the north of the town of Karimnagar and about 27 kilometres to the east of the town of Jagtial, on the banks of the River Godavari. The deity here is in the form of Yogananda, and can be seen with his consort Goddess Lakshmi.
