The Kakatiya Dynasty ruled over most Telangana and parts of modern Andhra Pradesh between 750 AD and 1323 AD. This dynasty is credited with the task of bringing together, for the first time, all the telugu people under one rule. The archway at Warangal which today stands as the emblem of the Telangana State was constructed during the Kakatiya's rule. Rani Rudramma Devi also belonged to this dynasty. A brief description of the birth of the dynasty and the expansion of their kingdom is provided in this part of the series.
