When we look the sky at night, there is this beautiful stars and moon shining and twinkling. But our galaxy is far beyond than that. Consisting of eight planets, the moon, other non-stellar objects and sun constitutes the solar system. It formed 4.6 billion years ago from the collapse of gravitation of a giant molecular cloud. Sun has the majority of the system mass in it and with most of the remaining mass in Jupiter. Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars are the terrestrial planets, which are composed of metal and rock. The outer planets are said as gas giants which is substantially more massive than the terrestrials. Jupiter and Saturn are the largest planets, which are composed mainly of hydrogen. Uranus and Neptune can be seen in the outer most circle of the solar system which are composed with high melting points and all planets have almost circular orbit which is said as ecliptic plane. Interesting facts about the topic can be understood from the presentation.
