Soil Conservasion in India

Presentations | English

Soil is the major asset we need to protect but even after ages of study and research we are still at the verge of soil erosion. Soil conservation is very necessary in India because, being an agricultural country, our health rely upon the soil where we cultivate crops. We have different types of soil available in India. In each landscape each variety of soil is present. They are alluvial, black, red, peaty, laterite, desert, and alkaline. Soil erosion is the removal of topical soil particles by the intervention of human into the environment such as deforestation, or shifting cultivation or over ploughing or grazing of land. This removal can degrade the quality of soil for propagation of food crops. In India about 143 million hectares of land are in immediate need of conservation. Common states facing soil erosion include Assam, Manipur, Tripura and Western ghats. Mainly three hectic erosion peaks have occurred in the Indian history. Let's have a detailed analysis in our power point presentation.
