A Software refers to the set of instructions fed in the form of programs to control the computer system and process the hardware components. For example the antivirus that we use to protect our computer system is a type of software, the media players that we use to play multimedia files such as movies and music are also software. As discussed, the software is a program, script which performs on the computer system. There are broadly three types of software i.e. system software, application software and programming language software. Each type of software has its function and runs on the computer system. Software concepts consists of a set of instructions, data or programs used to operate computers and perform specific tasks. It is the opposite of hardware, which describes the physical aspects of a computer. Software is a collective term used to refer to applications, scripts and programs that run on a device.
