Reporting and Editing

Presentations | English

How do you think articles in newspapers and magazines are published? What are the most important steps you need to do before an article have to be published? Reporting and editing are the most relevant steps without which no article can be published. Reporting is the collection or gathering of facts, from authentic sources. Whereas Editing is a process by which a report is read, corrected, modified and made better for publication. What if the article does not possess relevant quality? It is very sure that we won’t read it! Or in worst cases, what if the article does not comes from a reliable source? Then it would be illegitimate! Exactly! This is where reporting and editing comes into play. An article should be reported authentically and should be edited and formatted so that the users or the readers can get a well idea of what the article is trying to convey. “A good editor doesn't rewrite words, she rewires synapses.”, as quoted by S. Kelley Harrell. The presentation will put more perspective into the topic. Please refer.
