Is regreening our planet a good thing? A new study reports that increased vegetation growth during the recent decades, known as the “Greening Earth”, has a strong cooling effect on the land due to increased efficiency of heat and water vapour transfer to the atmosphere. Saving our earth and its environment becomes highly important as it provide us food and water to sustain life. Our well-being solely depends on this planet as it gives food and water to all living things and it is our responsibility to take care of it. Going green reduces air pollution and environmental toxins that could affect the immune system of our body that fights infections and that could expose us to diseases and fatal illnesses. Another advantage of going green is that it helps decrease the number of pollutants released to the environment. In the simplest terms, living green means making lifestyle decisions and engaging in practices which reduce negative impact on and promote the health of the planet and its creatures. There is indeed evidence in psychology suggesting that being exposed to green, natural environments improves mental well-being.
