“Rathnavali” which was written by Vidvan K.P. Govinda Pisharody and published by K. Karunakara Pisharody from Balamanorama Press, Mylapore, Madras, in the year 1935. Ratnavali was the daughter of king Vikrama Bahu of Sinhala. There was a belief that whoever marry Retnavali will become Emperor. The king of Valsala, Udayanan, fell in love with Retnavali and later married her at capital city, Koushammbi, is the story of this book. Udayanan had to overcome three major obstacles for marrying Retnavali.
വിദ്വാൻ കെ.പി. ഗോവിന്ദ പിഷാരടി എഴുതിയ "രത്നാവലി", 1935-ൽ മദ്രാസിലെ മൈലാപ്പൂരിലെ ബാലമനോരമ പ്രസിൽ നിന്ന് കെ. കരുണാകര പിഷാരടി പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചത്. സിംഹളയിലെ രാജാവായ വിക്രമബാഹുവിന്റെ മകളായിരുന്നു രത്നാവലി. രത്നാവലിയെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവൻ ചക്രവർത്തിയാകുമെന്ന് ഒരു വിശ്വാസം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. വത്സല രാജാവായ ഉദയനൻ രത്നാവലിയെ പ്രണയിക്കുകയും പിന്നീട് തലസ്ഥാന നഗരിയായ കൗശാംമ്പിയിൽ വച്ച് അവളെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതാണ് ഈ പുസ്തകത്തിന്റെ കഥ. രത്നവാലിയെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കാൻ ഉദയനന് മൂന്ന് പ്രധാന തടസ്സങ്ങൾ മറികടക്കേണ്ടി വന്നു.
