V. Madhusoodanan sung the song 'ragi parakunna' V. Madhusoodanan Nair is a poet and Malayalam literature critic from India who is credited with popularising poetry through recitation. He is most known for Naranathu Bhranthan, the Malayalam poem with the most editions, as well as his music recordings, which include recitations of his own poetry and poems by other notable poets. In 1993, the Kerala Sahitya Akademi presented him with its annual poetry prize. Sahitya Akademi Award, Asan Smaraka Kavitha Puraskaram, Padmaprabha Literary Award, Kunju Pillai Award, R. G. Mangalom Award, Souparnikatheeram Prathibhapuraskaram, and Janmashtami Puraskaram are among his many other honours. Poetry (from the Greek poiesis, "creating") is a type of literature that use phonaesthetics, sound symbolism, and metre to elicit meanings in addition to, or instead of, a prosaic outward meaning.
