Raman Sankar (April 30, 1909 – November 7, 1972) was an Indian politician who served as Kerala's third Chief Minister from 1962 to 1964. From 1960 to 1962, he was also the State's Deputy Chief Minister. Apart from being a politician, Sankar is also a statesman, administrator, orator, educator, writer, and editor. After beginning his public career as a teacher and lawyer, he was lured to the liberation cause and became an active member of the Indian National Congress in Travancore State. Following India's independence, he concentrated his efforts on developing the Congress party. Later, he left the Congress party and began working for the SNDP Yogam. During his almost 13-year engagement with the SNDP Yogam, he served as its General Secretary for over ten years and as President and Chief of the SN Trust. Under his leadership, the SNDP Yogam placed a strong emphasis on education and established a number of educational institutions.
