Quantum Mechanics is the study of materials at atomic and subatomic levels. It is an important part in inorganic chemistry which determines the theoretical level electronic structure of chemical compounds. The subatomic particles whose motion is of both wave type and particle type represent duality. These particles gain or lose energy in small amounts named as quanta. While considering an electron, a subatomic particle having both wave and particle nature, the location of the same can't be defined. Because in the macroscopic world, we can't find something having both natures. Chemists depend upon spectroscopy for obtaining the quantization of energy on a molecular condition, mainly via IR and NMR spectroscopy. In a chemical reaction, the state of atoms whether in ground state, excited or transition is studied. Download the presentation for studying Quantum Mechanics in detail.
