"A sales promotion is a marketing tactic in which a company employs a limited-time campaign or offer to stimulate demand for its product or service. There are three main sales promotion strategies: Pull strategy: The draw strategy aims to entice the customer to 'pull' the product away from the company, usually through a discount, BOGO, or other promotional offer. This is the most widely adopted technique in all types of enterprises. Push strategy: Using B2B sales, the push strategy attempts to 'push' products away from the firm and towards the consumer. Distributors and retailers will be rewarded by parent businesses for taking additional products off their hands and selling them to customers. Hybrid strategy: As the name implies, the hybrid strategy combines the push and pull strategies, with the corporation using a push strategy to move products and a pull strategy to attract purchases from merchants."
