The 16th Indian presidential election, scheduled for 2022, is round the corner (at the time of this PPT's creation). Ram Nath Kovind, the current president, will step down from his position on July 24, and hence, the Election Commission of India set the election date for July 18, 2022, to declare in time, the next President of India. While the BJP-led NDA has put tribal leader Draupadi Murmu, a former Governor of Jharkhand, on the ballot, the opposition has endorsed Yashwant Sinha as their undisputed choice for president.
