One of the greatest victories you can gain over a man is to beat him at politeness. It is an art of choosing among your real thoughts. It is the practical application of good manners or decency so as not to offend others. It is a culturally defined event and therefore what is considered polite in one’s culture can sometimes be quite rude or simply unusual in another cultural context. Some studies have shown that women are more likely to use polite recipes than men, though the exact differences are not clear. Keep all conversations as polite as possible. When you need to state an opposing view, do it with respect.
