Human rights are moral concepts or guidelines for specific standards of human behaviour that are typically safeguarded by both domestic and international law. The fundamental liberties and privileges known as human rights belong to every person in the world, from conception to natural death. These fundamental rights are based on shared ideas like independence, fairness, respect, decency, and equality. The term "human rights" refers to a broad range of rights, including the freedom from slavery and torture, the right to life and liberty, the right to free speech, the right to a job and an education, among many others.
