The network is the medium that connects multiple computer systems with a common communication link. Personal area networks are personal devices network equipped at a limited area. It handles the interconnection of devices at the surrounding of a single user. It's main role is to eliminate cables that connect devices to peripherals. It includes cordless products such as mouse devices or keyboards that use radio or infrared to connect and Bluetooth devices which allow enabled devices such as phones, mouse devices, headsets, PCs, printers and keyboards to connect wirelessly within a range of 10 meters. Wireless connection between PCs and peripherals can free up floor space. Connected Bluetooth devices can automatically synchronise data downloads, uploads and exchange information. Bluetooth devices will help to wirelessly control equipment and machinery. These networks are efficient, cost effective and convenient. Bluetooth devices are relatively secure but the data rate is slow.
