Peer Pressure

Presentations | English

Peer pressure is often associated with negative connotations, although it isn't necessarily a terrible thing. Peer pressure is sometimes used to favorably affect people. Learning about accepted group standards may be a helpful aspect of figuring out how to live with and socialize with others. Peer pressure is the power that members in the same social group have over one another. It's also the word for the effect of this influence on a person's need to conform in order to fit in with the group. Peers are sometimes mistaken for friends, although they can be anyone of a comparable position, such as those who are the same age, have similar talents, or have a similar social rank. The way your child (or you, for that matter) reacts to peer pressure may reveal a lot about who they are. Natural leaders are less likely to succumb to negative peer pressure, whereas followers may be more willing to comply.
