Pairwise Alignment in Bioinformatics

Presentations | English

Bioinformatics is described as the use of computational and analytical tools to gather and analyze biological data. It is a multidisciplinary area that incorporates computer science, mathematics, physics, and biology. Pairwise Alignment is used to find similarities between two biological sequences that may reveal functional, structural, and/or evolutionary connections (protein or nucleic acid). Multiple Sequence Alignment (MSA), on the other hand, is the alignment of three or more biological sequences of equal length. The output of MSA programs may be used to infer homology and the evolutionary connection between the sequences examined. For more details browse this PPT.
