How does Openshift function? OpenShift is a family of containerization software products developed by Red Hat. OpenShift is a layered system wherein each layer is tightly bound with the other layer using Kubernetes and Docker clusters. The architecture of OpenShift is designed in such a way that it can support and manage Docker containers, which are hosted on top of all the layers using Kubernetes. OpenShift Origin is an open-source container application platform created by Red Hat, based on Kubernetes and Docker. That means you can host your own PaaS for free and almost with no hassle. OpenShift seamlessly manages the Kubernetes cluster. OpenShift helps you to develop, deploy, and manage container-based applications. It provides you with a self-service platform to create, modify, and deploy applications on demand, thus enabling faster development and release life cycles. OpenShift adds developer and operational-centric tools top of Kubernetes to enable rapid application development, easy deployment and scaling, and long-term lifecycle maintenance for small and large teams and applications.
