Farming is growing crops and keeping animals for food and raw materials. It is a part of agriculture. People probably started agriculture slowly by planting a few crops, but still gathered many foods from the wild. People may have started farming because the weather and soil began to change. This allowed the human population to grow to such large numbers as they are today. Over the years, it has developed and the use of new technologies and equipment replaced almost all the traditional methods of farming. India largely depends on the agriculture sector. Our agriculture sector has grown stronger than many countries and we are the largest exporter of many food grains. With the advancement of technology, advanced equipment, better irrigation facility and the specialised knowledge of agriculture started improving, therefore, implementing new methodology in agriculture and farming. There are some negative impacts too, like deforestation and use of chemical fertilisers. These impacts are harmful to both environments as well as the people involved in this sector.
