Nagarkarnool is one of the 33 districts in the state of Telangana. There is an interesting story behind how it gets its name. In the olden days, it was called Kandana Volu, after a king that ruled it. Another theory is that this was a major marketyard and all the bullock carts used a special part called Kandana after which this place got its name.
