"Mizoram is known as the “Songbird of India”. The northeastern state of Mizoram is one of the smallest states in India. There are many tourists’ attractions in Mizoram, especially due to its moderate climate, even during summers. The name of the state is derived from ‘Mizo’, the self-described name of the native inhabitants and ‘Ram’, which in the Mizo language means ‘land’. Thus ‘Mizo-ram’ means “Land of the Mizos”. It is known for its evergreen hills and dense bamboo jungles. It lies in the southernmost end of north east India. It is also called the land of Blue Mountains. The hills are traversed by gushing rivers and high sparkling waterfalls. Some of the famous must visit places of Mizoram are Aizawl, Reiek, Lunglei, Vantawng falls and so on. The state is a bird watcher’s destination. The vast culture and grand festivals of the state are unique and has an irresistible charm that attracts tourists.
