Mulugu district is one of the 33 districts in the state of Telangana. It was earlier a part of Shankarbhoopalapally District. The district is famous for the Samakka Saarakka Jathara, a annual festival organised by the Girijans of this place. Mulugu district is also home to the Bogatha Waterfalls which is also known as Telangana’s Niagara. Another major tourist attraction in this district is the Laknavaram Lake which is spread over 10,000 acres and contains 13 tiny islands.
