Multiprocessing is the use of two or more central processing units (CPUs) within a single computer system. The term also refers to the ability of a system to support more than one processor or the ability to allocate tasks between them. A multiprocessor system consists of multiple processors and a method for communication between the processors. A common form of multiprocessing in computer systems is homogeneous multiprocessing, also called symmetric multiprocessing (SMP), in which two or more identical processors share a single main memory. This presentation helps to understand the topic better. Do read and share.
