Stars, like the Sun, are celestial bodies which are the site of a variety of physical events, the most obvious of which being the creation of light. The term designates a visible heavenly body without specifying which type it is, i.e. either a light generator or a light reflector.Planets don't have their own light source. One of them, the Earth, revolves around the Sun. While it is possible that more exist outside of the solar system, the only ones known are those in our own.Apart from the planets, there are no other permanent elements among the celestial elements closest to us: the Sun is the sole star in the system that carries its name. It's hard to imagine what other celestial bodies may be referred to if not the planets. As a result, the given translation appears to be valid, and the Quran appears to refer to the existence of planets as defined in modern times.
