The iconic Indian painter, M.F. Hussain, was one of the most celebrated artists of the 20th century, not only in India but across the world. Born in 1915 in Maharashtra, his artistic journey spanned over seven decades. Hussain’s art was characterised by its vibrant colours, dynamic compositions and a deep connection to Indian culture and mythology. He was a prolific painter who created over 40,000 pieces of art in his long, illustrious and controversial career. He was not only known for his paintings but also for some award-winning movies he created.
