Why is saving tigers important? Healthy tiger habitats help mitigate climate change, provide fresh water to animals and people, reduce the impact of natural disasters, and improve the health of local people. Why is the tiger population important? Tiger is a top predator which is at the apex of the food chain and keeps the population of wild ungulates in check, thereby maintaining the balance between prey herbivores and the vegetation upon which they feed. What are the benefits of counting tigers? By monitoring the well-being of tiger populations we can gauge the pulse of life-sustaining forest systems. What are the methods to estimate tiger population? Distance sampling using line transects is one of the most frequently used methods to obtain estimates of population density and abundance for tiger prey species. Isn’t it our responsibility to save the tigers? Let’s save the tigers and learn about the methods of counting tiger population with the help of a presentation, shall we? Please refer.
