Metals and non metals are different types of materials present around us. In short, elements can be broadly categorised as, metals and non metals. The majority of the chemical elements in pure form are classified as metals. In the periodic table majority are called metals. Very few elements in the periodic table is non metal. They can be easily distinguished. Metals have several properties . They are good conductors of electricity. They are also shiny and ductile. Non metals can be defined simply by having opposite properties of metals. For instance, they are dull and poor conductors of heat and electricity.
