Technique used to obtain the imaging of internal parts of the body helps in diagnostic and therapeutic analysis. This can help in understanding the medical condition of a person and proceed with proper treatment. Modern medical imaging techniques include X-ray, Ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), Fluoroscopy, Mammography, Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Nuclear Medicine etc. X-rays used to image skeletal system, oral cavity, any ingested objects and digestive system. In angiography and fluoroscopy, X-rays are used. Even CT uses X-rays in different angles and helps in diagnosing presence of tumors, spinal injuries, colon health, organs in pelvis, chest and abdomen and so on. PET is a nuclear medicine technology used to diagnose neurological diseases such as Alzheimer's, multiple sclerosis, cancer or heart disease. MRI used radio waves and magnetic field, to evaluate blood vessels, breasts and major organs. Ultrasound also uses non ionizing radiation technique in medical imaging. More details about the topic is explained in the powerpoint presentation.
