Marine microbiology is the study of microorganisms and microorganisms in the saltwater environment, including open seas, coastal areas, oceans, and debris. Marine microbiology strongly focuses on interactions between microbial communities and macrophages, in the oceans and other parts of the planet. It is not limited to the open ocean. It is also concerned about the microbial community in saltwater pristine coastal areas and estuaries. Many marine mixotrophic are mixotrophic, meaning that they can act like plants or animals by ingesting other microorganisms through photosynthesis.
