Saluva Thimmarasu or Saluva Nayak was a minister in the court of Sri Krishnadevaraya of the Vijayanagara Empire. Mahamantri Thimmarasu was born on 31 December 1451 and rose to a prominent position in the empire. One historical account states that he was instrumental in helping Sri Krishnadevaraya attain the throne. When the earlier king had ordered that Sri Krishnadevaraya’s eyes be pulled out, because he posed a threat to the younger prince, Thimmarasu had feigned the carrying out of the act and produced before the court a pair of goat’s eyes, thereby saving Sri Krishnadevaraya. However, it later years, the minister fell from grace, was imprisoned for some time and eventually spent the rest of his life in poverty, in the town of Tirupathi. సాలువ తిమ్మరసు లేదా సాలువ నాయక అని పిలువబడే తిమ్మరుసు, శ్రీకృష్ణదేవరాయల ఆస్థానంలో మంత్రిగా పని చేసేవాడు. ఈయన 1451 డిసెంబర్ 31న విజయనగరంలో జన్మించారు. కృష్ణ దేవరాయలు విజయనగర రాజ్యాన్ని అధిష్ఠించడoలో తిమ్మరుసు ఒక ముఖ్యమైన పాత్ర పోషించారు. వీరనరసింహ రాయలు చనిపోతూ ఎనిమిది సంవత్సరాలు కలిగిన తన కొడుకుని రాజును చేయాలన్న దురుద్దేశంతో తన సవతి తమ్ముడైన శ్రీకృష్ణదేవరాయలు ని అంధుడ్ని చేయమని తిమ్మరుసుకి ఆజ్ఞాపించారు. కానీ తిమ్మరుసు మేక కళ్ళు ని తీసుకెళ్లి అవే శ్రీకృష్ణదేవరాయల కళ్ళని చనిపోతున్న రాజుకి చూపించాడు. ఇంతగా శ్రీకృష్ణదేవరాయలను కాపాడిన ఆయన, అదే శ్రీకృష్ణదేవరాయల వారి ఆగ్య పై చెరసాల పాలై, చివరికి పేదరికంలో శేష జీవితం గడిపారు. ఏ పరిస్థితులలో ఇలా జరిగిందో, ఆయన మంత్రిగా ఉన్నప్పటి వైభవం, ఆయన సమాధి ఎక్కడ ఉందో, ఇవన్నీ ఈ ప్రదర్శనలో వివరింపబడ్డాయి.
