Allasaani Pedanna was a Telugu poet belonging to the 15th and 16the centuries. He was not merely the most illustrious of the 'Ashtadiggajas' or the 8 great poets in Sri Krishnadevaraya's court, but was also the Prime Minister to the Emperor. He is the first poet to have offered a commentary to Sanskrutaandhra Poetry. He was also honoured by the Emperor himself with a huge golden anklet, which is considered one of the greatest honours a poet or a scholar could receive.
