Drawing and painting are art forms that have enticed the human race since pre-historic times. Like in several places around the world, our country too can boast of cave painting dating back to over 30,000 years from now. While there is no way for us to know of and celebrate those individual cave painters, we can, with pride, commemorate and celebrate the painters of recent times. This presentation throws light on the various painters and sketchers from the two Telugu States. Included in here are stalwarts such as Nandikolla Gopal Rao (1880-1945), Varada Venkataratnam (1895-1963), Adivi Bapiraju (1895-1952), Damerla Ramarao (1897-1925), Damerla Satyavani (1907-1992), Vaddadi Papayya (1921-1992), Sathiraju Lakshmi Narayana (1933-2014), Lakshman Ele (1965) and several others. చిత్రలేఖనం అనేది అనాదిగా మానవ జాతిని ఆకర్షించిన కళారూపం. ప్రపంచంలోని అనేక ప్రదేశాలలో వలె, మన దేశంలో కూడా 30,000 సంవత్సరాల నాటి ఆది మానవుల నివాసస్థానాలైన గుహలలో వారు గీసిన బొమ్మలు ఇప్పటికీ కనబడుతూ ఉంటాయి. ఆ చిత్రకారులు ఎవరు, వారి జీవిత విశేషాలేమిటి అన్న విషయాలు మనకు తెలియవు కాని, మనం ఇప్పటి, అంటే ఇటీవల కాలపు చిత్రకారుల గురించి తెలుసుకునే అవకాశం ఉంది. ఈ ప్రదర్శన మన రెండు తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాలకు చెందిన చిత్రకారుల గురించి క్లుప్తంగా తెలియబరుస్తుంది. ఇందులో పేర్కొనబడిన వారు నందికోళ్ల గోపాల్‌రావు గారు (1880-1945), వరదా వెంకటరత్నం గారు (1895-1963), అడివి బాపిరాజు గారు (1895-1952), దామెర్ల రామారావు గారు (1897-1925), దామెర్ల సత్యవాణి గారు (1907-1992), వడ్డాది పాపయ్య గారు (1921-1992), సత్తిరాజు లక్ష్మి నారాయణ గారు (1933-2014), లక్ష్మణ్ ఏలె గారు (1965) తదితరులు. చదివి ఆనందించగలరు.
